In an Japanese kindergarten designed by HIBINOSEKKEI + Youji no Shiro + KIDS DESIGN LABO, there’s a centrally positioned staircase that has a play space tucked neatly beneath it.

Positioned beneath the decrease half of the steps is a wood-framed space that’s residence to a small ball pit. Usually this house could be left unused, however the designers created a wooden body that follows the road of the steps.

Inside the wooden body is a play space that includes a ball pit stuffed with easy wooden balls that complement the environment. The wooden floor surrounding the ball pit can also be the proper peak for babies to sit down and chat.
