In an Japanese kindergarten designed by HIBINOSEKKEI + Youji no Shiro + KIDS DESIGN LABO, there’s a centrally situated staircase that has a play space tucked neatly underneath it.

Positioned underneath the decrease half of the steps is a wood-framed space that’s house to a small ball pit. Usually this house could be left unused, however the designers created a wooden body that follows the road of the steps.

Throughout the wooden body is a play space that includes a ball pit crammed with easy wooden balls that complement the environment. The wooden floor surrounding the ball pit can also be the right top for young children to take a seat and chat.
